On
January 16, 2010, our church building was destroyed by an arsonist.
On June 26, 2011, we celebrated the first service in our new facility.
Between those
two dates, we learned a lot of things...
We learned
that our God is bigger than any torch, any tragedy. He has protected
and preserved us for a reason -- and that reason is so that we might
serve Him. We learned that the church is far more than a building.
Buildings can be destroyed, but the church cannot. But most of all,
we came to understand what the apostle Paul meant when he wrote
in 2 Corinthians 4:8-10:
| "We
are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but
not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but
not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of
Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our
body." |
We
hope this website will help you get to know us better, and will
give us the chance to show you what we mean when we say, "At
Tyland Baptist...You Are Loved!"
